Saving money while you vape

A little TLC goes a long way!

The simplest way to prolong any sort of vape paraphernalia or pieces of valuable kit is to simply take as much care of them as you can! This step largely depends on the discipline of the individual user; you might be a very clean person, or you might just be scrappy enough to leave things until they break before you intervene.

Thankfully, cleaning your device is can be easy! We have a full breakdown of how you can easily take apart and clean your device here!

This will make sure that your device will fulfil its usefulness and won’t become prematurely damaged.

Shift away from disposables

Lots of people use disposables to wean away from smoking, and that’s fantastic! Disposables have their place in the industry and help lots of people every year pursue healthier lives. Smoking remains one of the number one killers on earth, and we consider it a privilege to be able to give the public a substitute that helps them consume nicotine safely.

Vaping disposables can be quite expensive and time-consuming because you’ll have to keep buying more single-use devices to keep up your use. A typical disposable will usually be upwards of £5, and each device will on average deliver up to 600 puffs – that’s around 20 cigarettes. This can be great for those who tend not to vape so much, but heavier users might find themselves going through an entire device each day. Basic math shows that’ll cost them around £35 a week. This is still less costly than smoking (which will cost around £100 a week), but it’s still a substantial amount, especially when money is tight these days.

So we’d recommend you invest in a higher quality device that you can fill with your favourite e-liquid flavours.

Never buy full kits, & keep mods

A great way to start investing in refillable vape kits is to buy each part of your kit individually as opposed to buying full pre-made kits. This can be difficult for those who are unsure of what elements of each kit link together, but it’s well worth it in the end if you’re looking for something that can be built up on the cheap. If you feel compelled to switch up your vaping style, keeping your old mod can be a great money-saving way because they’re often the most expensive part of any kit, so keeping them will ensure you’re not getting rid of useful tech that still works fine. Plus, if you feel like switching back, or you just preferred your old kit, you’ll have more options available to you.

Replace faulty parts

It’s also a great idea to only replace the malfunctioning/faulty elements that have gone wrong with your device as opposed to the whole device itself. For some, it can be very tricky to figure out exactly what is wrong with their device that was working fine but seems to have simply broken over time. A great way to figure this out is by separating the device piece by piece and laying out the fragments in their entirety - but make sure you know how to put it back together again before you do this! After you have all the pieces, inspect them properly and work through a series of eliminations that figure out what still works and what doesn’t. If you’re unsure what you’re looking for, cross-comparing images online can help you out. If you’re looking for more definite answers, you can approach a more knowledgeable vaper, or even have someone in your local vape shop look at it to figure out what’s going wrong. Of course, if you're still unsure, it might be a problem with the mod itself.

Switch up your vape style

The way you vape can have a direct effect on how much it’s costing you over time. Moving on from disposables and using pod kits and standard e-liquid bottles and replacing them with mixable shortfills, you’ll get far more liquid for your money and more control over your nicotine intake.
