What is a shortfill?

A shortfill is a large bottle of flavoured e-liquid that contains no nicotine. Shortfill bottles have a huge variety of flavours that can be mixed and matched by the user who can choose the exact amount of nicotine they would like to vape. The term ’short-fill’ comes from the fact that each bottle is always filled to 80% of its capacity - usually 100ml in a 120ml bottle, but they can also come in 50ml measures, which are sold in 60ml bottles. This is done so you have space in the bottle to add your nicotine. All you have to do is add your preferred nicotine liquid and then mix it up.

Shortfills entered the vaping market when the TPD (Tobacco Products Directive) decided that bottles of vape juice containing nicotine – of any quantity – must be limited to 10ml or less. This generated some criticism from some experienced vapers who consumed large amounts of nicotine. Largely this decision came from a position of care for the community. These liquids can be dangerous to those who misuse them, i.e., those who may accidentally consume them directly via drinking them. This has become a particularly effective ruling in the vaping industry as a good deal of less-than-reputable manufacturers have received valid criticism for allegedly marketing to underage children who have never consumed nicotine at any level. We have made it our goal to follow the law above all else. We will never attempt to market to people who are underage and work as a conduit that provides a valuable to those seeking an ethical substitute for tobacco, which is far more dangerous. We recommend that you do not ever use shortfills that are fake, or you suspect of being fake. These products often contain ingredients that can seriously harm you and are not worth cutting financial corners for. They can also cause serious damage to your device, so if you do happen to fill your device with a fake shortfill, please empty it and and clean it asap.

Why choose shortfills?

They have lots of flavours to choose from, they're cost-efficient and can help people veer from nicotine. It makes the whole vaping process easier as you only have to carry one bottle around.

Shortfills are flavour concentrates which are very strong to taste. This is because manufacturers expect them to be diluted down. We advise adding 10ml of flavourless e-liquid so they taste less overpowering. You can also add straight PG or straight VG, or even a combination of the two liquids – both have no nicotine.

Shortfills are available in most vape shops and are frequently offered to try. Many vapers neglect to be concerned about the role of YG to PG concentration in nicotine shots. They’re not all equal. Vapers should use a nicotine shot with a PG/VG ratio that is the same as the e-liquid that they’re combining it with.

100ml shortfills are great for sub-ohm vapers because these tanks typically go through more e-liquid than other devices. Nicotine is hard to give up, so it's difficult to quit smoking, everyone knows this. Having the choice to add your nicotine means you have total power over the situation, which many people love. If you feel that a stronger nicotine strength is better suited to your needs, the world's your oyster.

Sometimes fans of certain flavour profiles may be disappointed that their shortfill did not match the real flavour. However, it’s all a matter of taste. So, when it comes to selecting a shortfill you can vape no end, it can take time. Trust the process and you'll get one that'll keep you going in no time.
