Travelling With Your E-Cigarette

2022 is the year a lot of us will get on a plane since the beginning of the pandemic. It has been almost three years since we enjoyed an entire summer season of sun, beaches, cocktails by the ocean and a stress-free week of sunny goodness.

As the 2022 holiday season is fast approaching, we want you to be prepared and safe whilst on your travels with our vape kit. Travelling with an e-cigarette kit is not as straightforward as we might like. Vaping in countries where it is banned could land you in a lot of trouble – the last thing you want when you arrive on holiday.

It is easy to get confused by foreign laws when it comes to vaping and often it’s the last thing we worry about. Regulations and customs also differ around the world so we’ve put together a handy guide on what you might need to know when travelling with your vape kit.

Travel Checklist:

·         E-cigarette

·         E-liquid or replaceable pods

·         Batteries

·         Battery charger or cable

·         Storage case

·         Battery case

·         International plug adapter

Before you go:

  • Check if your country has restrictions on vaping. Over 20 countries in the world have banned or placed restrictions on vaping. Always check the policies of each country before you travel. You can also check out our list of countries that have banned vaping further down this blog.
  • Invest in a case to store extra e-liquids, chargers and spare parts for your kit to put in your suitcase. This will make sure that everything is together and protected.
  • Make sure your e-cigarette is fully charged when you arrive at the airport in case it is questioned by security.

On the Flight:

  • Vaping on planes is strictly prohibited. The alarms in aeroplane bathrooms will be triggered if you start vaping so keep your kit in your luggage until you land.
  • E-cigarettes must be securely stowed away when flying. Keep them in your bag under your seat or in the overhead lockers. You won’t be able to use your kit in transit anyway, so it is a good idea to keep it safe until you arrive.
  • Failing to comply with airline rules could lead to a huge fine, confiscation or even imprisonment.

Countries Where Vaping is Legal (But with Restrictions):

There are many countries where vaping is completely legal but have restrictions. These restrictions include the sale of e-cigarettes to minors and regulations on nicotine levels and quantities. There are also strict rules as to where you can vape. Many countries have legalised vaping but have some restrictions as to how you can use your kit.

The UK, Canada and New Zealand for example are very progressive with their attitudes towards vaping but they do have their own restrictions and regulations.

There is currently no country in the world where vaping is completely legal with no restrictions. If you are travelling to a country and it is not on the banned list, double-check with their official website to check what the rules are when bringing your own e-cigarette before you travel.
