What is Vaping?
You might be wondering what vaping actually is...
Vaping is the act of inhaling vapour which is produced by an electronic cigarette, also known as an e-cigarette or more commonly known as a vape pen or vape mod. Vaping allows you to receive nicotine in a much less harmful way than smoking regular tobacco.
The vapour is produced by an e-liquid that sits inside the e-cigarette. The battery in the e-cigarette heats up a coil within the device that turns the e-liquid into a vapour allowing it to be inhaled. Vaping doesn’t produce harmful smoke like smoking a traditional cigarette does, meaning that it’s less damaging to the lungs and general health.

Making the Switch to Vaping
Switching from cigarettes to vaping can be a big step, especially when you’re not entirely sure where to start. That’s why we’re here to help and advise you as much as we can. We’ve let you in our three simple steps to get you started on your vaping journey.
Choose Your Favourite E-Liquid Flavour
When it comes to choosing an e-liquid flavour you want to make sure it’s one that you’ll love. Whether you prefer a funky fruity flavour or a traditional tobacco taste, you'll find a flavour to tantalise your taste buds at Total Vapour.
Choose Your Desired Strength
Depending on how many cigarettes you smoke a day, your nicotine strength may vary.
As a guide we would advise
- 5-10 cigarettes a day - 6mg nicotine e-liquid
- 10-15 cigarettes a day - 12mg nicotine e-liquid
- 20+ cigarettes a day - 18mg nicotine e-liquid#
The nicotine strength can gradually be reduced when your cravings begin to decrease.
Choose Your Vape Kit
There are lots of different e-cigarette options out there so it can be difficult to know where to start.
To get you started on your vaping journey, we would suggest starting with a classic style vape kit.
Vape pens come with all the parts you need to get started. Vape pens come with a tank to house your chosen e-liquid and are already assembled with all the necessary parts so there’s no faffing and you can get straight to vaping.
Pod kits are also great for starting you on your vaping journey, they come with pods that are already filled with e-liquid so there’s no need for coil changes or refills, you just need to simply replace the pod once they’ve run out of e-liquid.
Sub-ohm devices are for the more advanced vaper and work on a higher wattage suitable for direct to lung inhalation. These devices work to deliver a more intense flavour and larger clouds.
What Is In My E-Liquid?
The only ingredients that you’ll find in our e-liquids are Vegetable Glycerine (VG) and Propylene Glycol (PG), flavouring and nicotine! All of our ingredients are all ethically sourced from the UK and Europe.
Propylene Glycol (PG) is a clear, odour free liquid which has a thin consistency. It provides the ‘throat hit’ sensation that you get with smoking but without any of the harmful chemicals found in tobacco.
Vegetable Glycerine (VG) is a by-product of vegetable oil and is recognised as a substance for safe consumption. VG thickens the consistency of e-liquid, this creates the large vapour clouds that are associated with sub-ohm vaping.
When choosing an e-liquid, make sure that you’re purchasing from a reputable company that uses reliably sourced and high-quality ingredients for a greater vaping experience.
What Type of E-Liquid Would Suit My Vaper Profile?
Dependant on what type of vaper you are, there are a variety of different e-liquids to choose from. Each e-liquid offers you a different smoking sensation to suit your vaper profile.
Standard e-liquids usually contain a higher level of PG and is the preferred choice for those looking to switch from smoking to vaping.
Sub-ohm liquid, also known as ‘max VG’ has a higher percentage of VG than PG. Due to the thickening effect of VG, the sub-ohm e-liquid is designed to produce a lot more vapour and are suited to high-wattage sub-ohm devices. This type of vaping is more of a hobby rather than trying to curb the craving of smoking.
50/50 E-Liquid
As you’ve probably guessed, 50/50 e-liquids contain 50% VG and 50% PG. You can use these in any vape device and suit any type of vaper profile.
‘Nic salts’ or nicotine salt e-liquids are designed to imitate the strength of the nicotine found in a traditional cigarette, allowing nicotine to get into the blood stream a lot quicker than standard e-liquids. This type of e-liquid would suit someone who smoke 20+ cigarettes a day and are looking for that immediate, satisfying nicotine hit.
